Rapid Re-Housing (RRH) is an intervention housing model by which households experiencing homelessness move to permanent housing quickly. A fundamental goal of rapid re-housing is to reduce the amount of time a person is homeless. RRH rapidly connects households to housing through a tailored package of assistance that includes short-term rental assistance paired with supportive services. RRH helps households living on the streets or in emergency shelters solve the practical and immediate challenges to obtaining housing while reducing the amount of time they experience homelessness, avoiding a near-term return to homelessness, and linking to community resources that enable them to achieve long-term housing stability. RRH is an important component of our community’s response to homelessness.
